Halden in 6 months old!!

So I totally slacked on the 5 month post so I'll mention a couple things that happened when he was 5 months. So, pictures first!

On a fussy day and nothing could calm him. I finally wrapped him up and he was gone in seconds!
All ready for church! Definitely my favorite church outfit, all the old ladies gush.

He found the Halloween bowl.

On one of those not so good days.

Lunch date with Aunt Manda! Lovin that celery stick.

His favorite toy?? Waterbottles and the xbox remote.

Sitting up like a big kid!

-Tummy time is still awful. Just tears, frustration and flailing.
-He is so good at reaching for toys though! Whether they be above his head or to the side of him, he can reach out and pick them up.
-He's starting to sit!...a little bit. It's only for like 2 seconds before he tips to a side, but he's definitely getting there.
-He still reaches for any food or drink in sight. Like literally dives for it, and sometimes he still catches me off guard. He's smart  about it too. He knows where to go for a drink with a straw, or cap or open glass. But we are still trying to kind of limit the food he eats. Obviously no dairy, but he's had bananas, apples, avocados, rolls, celery and pumpkin! And he loves them all, mostly I think because he feels like he's one of us. haha Tyler may have also given him, on Halloween, a kit-kat to suck on. hmmmm, we just won't talk about that.
-He eats rice and oatmeal cereals like nobodies business. If you hold the spoon in front of him he'll dive for it with mouth wide open.
-Nothing has changed in the binkie department, still a huge fan! One night I didn't have one by me after I was done feeding him and he had fallen asleep for the night and I thought maybe he was out of it enough I could just put him down. But 5 seconds after he unlatched he had his little pucker going on trying to find a binkie! His eyes were closed the whole time, but he air suckled until I put one in!
-He loves talking, mostly to me though. If I lay him on the floor with a toy he'll start talking (and loudly!) for quite some time.
-We started giving him baths and he thinks those are pretty alright.
-Nights aren't as good as they were, but he usually only wakes up once a night if he does

Alright! Now for the 6 month update!! haha

4 generations

Meeting Santa

Crazy hair after a bath! I could NOT get it to lay flat.

His 2 favorite buddies.

Taking a nap with cousin Xander, grandpa and the kitty cat.

Dad's least favorite onsie, Eve's favorite.

All ready for his 6 month appt

Giving himself smooches.
Playing not so nicely with cousin Bolden...

-He rolled over for the first time on Thanksgiving!!! Tummy time still sucks, but now he'll roll over every now and then. But only if I'm not initiating it. If we're intentionally doing tummy time and practicing rolling, it soooo does not happen. He definitely only does it on his own accord and as a last resort, he'll scooch and turn and twist his body until he can grab the toy over simply rolling over any day.
-And dude, this kid LOVES to eat. Even if he doesn't like the taste, he'll still go in for another bite. Like he thinks he's starving or something. (Trust me--he's not!) We've started buying the little cereal puffs and baby food and he downs it! He is also a HUGE fan of pizza crusts. Mostly I think, because he can hold onto it while he munches on it. But we do have to watch him like a hawk because the second it breaks off we have to fish it out of his mouth because he can't quite chomp it yet... because
-He doesn't have any teeth! He still teethes and drools like crazy. Those teeth keep coming up and pushing, but then they go back down. Poor kid.
-Sleeping is soooo not going well. I don't know if it's because of the cold he has, teething, or what, but he only sleeps well when he's in bed with us. So, that's got to change because I get grouchy when I don't get sleep! haha Last night he finally slept through the night again, in his own crib. It was awesome. Here's to hoping tonight we luck out again.
-Napping is only going okay. And it's a total hit and miss. Some days he naps really well and right on schedule, other days he's a little fuss bucket and won't sleep unless we are in the car...but he always sleeps in the car :)
-His exersaucer is definitely his favorite. One day after being cooped up in his car seat while he went shopping with me, all day long, we got home and all he wanted was that. I put him in and he was going 100 miles an hour! He bounced between all the toys and was spinning around like a pro. He usually does all of that...just at a much slower pace! haha He usually just chills in the seat until he's ready to attack, then he'll stand up and  "eat" it and knaw at it for a while, and then sit back down.
-We've gone back to mostly showers just out of convenience, but he does still love a good bath as long as he has the cup we pour water on him with, or the wash cloth.
-He sits up really well by himself now. He can usually go a few minutes before he starts to lean to a side
-He is still smiles almost all the time, and even when he's grumpy and fussy you can still get a smile out of him. He loves to giggle too. Superman is his jam. And he has started initiating interactions with other kids too. He is just the cutest. Seriously.
-Ohhhh and he met Santa and played baby Jesus at our ward party :) He just chilled in his manger like it was no big deal being naked in a room full of people with mom and dad behind him all dressed up. He just smiled at the wise-men, shepherds, and children when they came near him. Nailed it.

October

So...sad story. My phone died. Like randomly gave out on me. So that means A LOT of lost pictures
:(  Luckily I posted a few on FB and instagram so I have those. But in that time Halden turned 4 months!! He's getting huge. Especially when compared to newborns. At his 4 month appointment we found that he is definitely long and skinny!! 26th percentile for weight and 59th percentile for length. And then he has a big old noggin in the 72nd percentile. His head has definitely grown the most!! Halden is starting to grow out of his 0-3's and is moving into the 3-6 month clothes. This kid still HATES tummy time. He's started being okay for about the first 10 seconds...then starts screaming. So, improvement. And the doctor says he has the strength that their looking for so that's good!! When he "rolls" he gets to his side and then gets stuck. But he's fine with that because he can twist his body enough to see or hold whatever it was that made him roll.

He loves standing more than anything. He has started being a very messy eater and almost always ends up with milk all over his face. We gave him a little bit of cereal for his 4 month birthday and he was okay with it, but not quite sure how to swallow it. He mostly loves the spoon. We also tried a bit of banana...NOT a fan. His sleeping schedule has become a little less ideal...sometimes he wakes up. But I am so not complaining because if he does, it's usually only once a night. The hardest part is transferring him from nursing/rocking to the crib. We started heating up his place in the crib with a heating pad and it is working SO good. His teeth still haven't come in, but they still give him blister like things on his gums, so a bit of Tylenol takes care of it quickly if it causes him to get too fussy. And sometimes they cause him to drool...a lot. Of course he's like any other baby and puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. And his toys...he loves toys. he'll grab on to anything and just shake it around. We got him an exersaucer and he loves standing and playing.

This month Tyler went hunting but didn't get anything :( It was kind of a bummer! But at least I don't have to worry about trying to cook it! haha The first weekend he went, Halden and I went down to Lehi and we canned some cherries for the first time ever (turned out SO good) and we made quiet books! I think they turned out way cute. Charli, my mom and I spent all day Friday and Saturday cutting them out and sewing them and we almost got done...almost.

September

During the month of September, Halden turned 3 months old!! He's getting so big! I feel like he has a really long torso because his 0-3 month footie jammy pants fit perfect, but all of his onsies are pretty tight! He still HATES tummy time. We try everything to keep him happy and playing. But the only time he is content and on his belly is when he's on my yoga ball. So his arms are still kind of weak, but his neck and body are super tough. He loves standing and can almost sit by himself. He usually still sleeps really well, but some nights he'll wake up once or twice. I still can't complain!! He is all smiles and is loving learning how to laugh. Too cute.

He got his 2 month shots at the beginning of the month and that wasn't as bad as what I thought it would be! He hated the vaccine that they give orally, and he screamed for about 10 seconds when they poked him. But after that he was fine! He was a little somber the rest of the day, and I did end up giving him a tad bit of Tylenol. He got his first cold too, but we ended up buying a humidifier and that helped tons!!

School started for Ty so we actually get to see him a bit more than during the summer which is nice! It feels up his evenings studying, but at least he's usually home! The Ogden temple was re-dedicated and it was the third time I've ever left Halden. I've had to once for the dentist, once for a trip to the temple and then this time. It's just a little ridiculous how much I love that little boy- leaving him for those couple hours is tough!! Makes me feel even more grateful that I stay at home! Cora still LOVES Halden. The whole time we're with them, she is right by Halden. And she gets so sad when he gets sad! And if he's sleeping, she is sure to tell everyone, "shhh, baby sleeping." Love it.

But, school starting means football starts too! Halden went to a couple games. He HaTED the sun being in his eyes, so after it went down he loved it. He also likes watching it on TV with Dad...uh oh...

Our Summer Continued

My daddy turned 50 this year, so to celebrate we made a quick trip down to Lehi for an over-the-hill b-day party. While my mom, Charli and I prepared some of the decorations, the boys expanded the deck out back. It was in dire need of a facelift since it could barely hold my dad and the grill. It was just our family, but missing Trevor :(  Haden's girlfriend (sort of) at the time, also came for the party. After eating we enjoyed a few games of volleyball, as always.

Neither one seem too sure of anything..

Corra LOVES Halden...sometimes a little too much :)

Dad's Depends cake. He was quick to inform mom that
she got the wrong strength of reading glasses...

RIP Here lies Shane's youth

For the 24th of July we went to the parade in North Logan that goes right by Grandparents Buck home! They went to the parade as well, but we didn't know that until after :( But we did find Matt & Jacki and their family. Ty's parents were there too! I was actually pretty impressed with the parade and the amount of candy that they passed out! Unfortunately the only picture I got was of us, luckily we have a cute little boy to make up for it :) :)

Halden and I also made it to Fielding Fun Days. Their parade was also better than I had imagined (it being Fielding and all...SMALL!) They also have a mini little fair type thing after too. This was way freaking cool and we're definitely going back next year. They have lots of fun little booths for the kids to go to and they get a ticket and a prize at each one. Then at the end they use all of their tickets to "buy" a larger prize as well. And it's ALL FREE! Then they had burgers for lunch followed by water games with the fire department. That night they had fireworks and Tyler was able to make it out to those :) Halden did really well with them, as long as he had one ear cuddled up to me with my hand covering the other. And he's such a fantastic baby he actually slept through part of it! My favorite part though was when a little boy copied his daddy. There was a dog that barked every time a firework went off-super annoying!!! Well one guy finally had enough of it and shouted "Shut that dumb dog up!!" Then you hear a little voice say, "ya! shut that dumb dog up!!" haha It was pretty funny! Gotta watch what you say :)

I think it will be even more fun next year when Halden can enjoy some aspects of it. Especially if Kristi and Bolden can make it down!!

The weekend after the 24th we went camping up at the lot with Jer and Kristi. It was a pretty lazy trip. We played dominoes with Pam & Dave and David & Paula. We also went fishing for a bit. Then Kristi's cousin and his family came up and spent the night too. But we had to head home early Sunday morning to make it back to church in time. Tyler got put into the Elder's Quorum presidency, and that was the day they sustained them, set them apart and had tons of meetings, making it fairly important to get back. Which was kid of a bummer. Good thing we're going to make it back up again this year.

Jeremy was supposed to be putting Bolden down for naptime, Tyler went
in and found the roles to be reversed...

Halden all cuddled after a cold night in the Uintas!

For Father's day, we got both of our dads a fly pass. Basically they got to fly a little airplane for about 30 minutes with an instructor as the co-pilot. Part of the deal was they could take 2 passengers with them as well. So Danny took Tyler and Jer up with them. They all loved it! The instructor walked them through g-forces, negative and positive and had him try all sorts of things.

The Plane
While Tyler was with his dad flying, we went camping at Stone Reservoir for the "Jensen Reunion" (a.k.a. Oneida Narrows). Tyler came up with us Friday night, left EARLY Saturday morning and came back for the rest of the day. It was nice to actually get in the water and relax..I love the lake!! I tried knee boarding this year...no Bueno. Between my insicion killing me and lacking all muscle mass, I basically just drank a gallon of lake water!! haha But it was still fun. Tyler wakeboarded for quite a while though. My dad also brought the waverunners up so we got to enjoy them quite a bit as well. We tried dipping Halden's toes in the water... suffice it to say, he didn't like it. haha Not one bit. It was a little too cold for him so he just chilled on his playmat the whole time!
Gathered around the Campfire

Cuddling with Dad :)
All snuggled up

Meeting Grandma Jensen for the first time!!
(And seriously, don't you love the swim shorts!!)
Our anniversary is in August, so it was a little different this year with wee little man. We stayed local, and went golfing at Birchcreek (Halden did SO good. Slept most the time, ate during one hole, and was happy and content to look around for the last 2). That night we went to Cafe Sabor for dinner and rented a redbox movie to finish it off. Tyler also surprised me with Dr. Pepper, Dove dark chocolate, and flowers...he knows me so well!!
Off to dinner!

Cutest little man ever!

My awesome putt! Be very impressed...I was. haha

We were also able to make it to the Cache County Fair. We mostly just walked around and admired the event. We got our annual sentsy buy in, but they didn't have my favorite smell which was kind of a bummer! And right before we left we ran into Matt and Jacki! It was a nice little surprise :)
Blakers and Trev loving on Halden

Halden was enthralled by some mascot looking duck thing. haha
And of course we made it to the Golden Spike Fair and Rodeo. Jer and Kristi were able to make it up so we went with them and Ty's parents! Halden did okay, but got tired towards the end and couldn't sleep with all the noise so we had to head home a bit early. The worst part, by far, was having to nurse him in a bathroom stall standing up. Never again. On the bright side, that meant that we got to the hot chocolate before the crowd set in!!

For Labor day we made it back up to the Uintahs. It was a bit chillier this time around, but lots more family and a whole lotta fun! Saturday we mostly chilled around and played lots of horseshoes, Sunday we went to church and celebrated Jax's B-day, and Monday we went on Halden's first 4 wheeler ride! He slept pretty much the whole time. Tyler had him all snuggled up on him in the wrap and then the windbreaker. Thank heavens we had that because there were a few good wind gusts!! Tyler's parents and Jacki's family were the only immediate family members who made it up, but it was such a fun time as always! We're so lucky that they have property up there with so many trails around them. Halden mostly wanted to stay in the trailer and play on his playmat...he seriously LOVES that thing.

I also feel it's noteworthy to mention that I won 2 contests via facebook and instagram. That's right, all of that reposting FINALLY paid off!! A dress and a photo shoot, one lucky girl right here!! BOOM.
